“When I first heard about Nouveau Riche, I was an over-the-road truck driver who, for 12 years, watched the sun come up on the East Coast and set on the West Coast. I have seen many things I will never forget, as well as a few things I wish I could… I never saw my son play football. I wasn’t there to see my daughters cheerlead, or see most of my grandchildren born. When one of my granddaughters died, I was on the road in Sacramento, and when my mother-in-law died, I was in Cleveland. When my wife longed for me, I was somewhere between lost and found. It cost me 12 years of my life and much more!
When I sat in INA Chad Wade’s office, I was really skeptical. The next morning though, I called him at six and was in his office at seven, with $16k from a loved one. Three months later, my mother was on her death bed and not expected to make it through the night, but my dispatcher still expected me to go out. I fired my boss that day and have been working full-time with Nouveau Riche since then.
Nouveau Riche started me on a path that helped me to reclaim my life. None of this would have been possible had it not been for Jim Piccolo, Bob Snyder and Chad Wade seeing in me what I did not see in myself. You see the truth of it was, I wasn’t skeptical about Nouveau Riche, I was skeptical about myself! I was a tired, old truck driver who had lost everything, including self esteem. I didn’t think I had what it took to become a real estate investor, or a successful businessman… but the change in me is legendary!
On a leadership call, Jim mentioned looking at ourselves and enjoying what we saw. A few months ago, I stood back and took a long, hard inventory of myself and frankly, I didn’t like what I saw. It has been a long journey, but I can now proudly say that I love who I am – a man inspired by his own direction. I work for and answer to no one, and have a new found freedom and respect with my family and those close to me. I have my life back and I AM ALIVE!
